I love CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) day! We get our local organic farm's basket every other Thursday, and I am just so thrilled with how much I'm enjoying it. Today there are more beets (today's crop don't look so good, our farm liaison admitted, but she assures us they'll taste great) and chard for me to make this recipe that I discovered on the first week of our CSA adventure. Supporting our local farm has helped me learn what is and isn't in season around here, and has let us discover turnips, which we thought we would hate, but it turns out we love! I love how there's dirt clinging to our fresh produce, as if to remind me where it comes from. The tomatoes and nectarines look perfect, too. Mmm. Can't wait for dinner tonight. Since I'm on my own (boys at grandma's for the night and Greg at youth group) I can eat a whole dinner of fresh vegetables. How decadent.
